Hyper Hounds FAQ
For every guardian who’s ever felt judged, ashamed, or defeated because of their dog’s reactivity — you’re not alone.
Reactivity isn’t the result of bad training or failure. It’s stress, survival instincts, and nervous systems in overdrive. The “fight or flight” response is automatic, not intentional. Your dog isn’t giving you a hard time — they’re having a hard time.
At Hyper Hounds, we specialise in supporting dogs with BIG feelings (and their humans). Our classes are designed to: Build confidence Improve communication Increase calm Strengthen the bond between you and your dog
All in a safe, supportive space where every dog is seen, heard, and understood.
Whether your dog struggles with fear, anxiety, reactivity, handling issues, or shows aggression towards people or other dogs, our program provides practical skills and compassionate guidance.
Some behaviours require a specialised approach — especially when dogs react strongly to unfamiliar dogs or people. These challenges often come from underlying emotions like fear or insecurity. Jacqueline is an experienced Certified Professional Dog Trainer skilled at recognising these needs and helping both you and your dog move towards calmer, more positive outcomes. Let go of guilt. Step into compassion. Join us at Hyper Hounds and help your dog thrive.
As this is a specialised class places are limited to 3 dogs to set your dog up for success

A reactive dog is one that overreacts to certain triggers in their environment, like other dogs, people, or sounds. This overreaction can look like barking, lunging, growling, or being unable to focus. It's often rooted in underlying emotions like fear, anxiety, or frustration. Our class focuses on helping your dog manage these big feelings in a calm, confident way.
This class is designed to help you and your dog build confidence and communication. You will learn practical skills to help your dog stay calm in triggering situations and strengthen the bond you share. We'll focus on positive reinforcement techniques to help your dog feel safe, seen, and understood.
The class is taught by Jacqueline, a Certified Professional Dog Trainer. She has extensive experience and expertise in recognising and addressing the specific needs of reactive dogs.

This program is specifically designed for dogs that struggle with fear, anxiety, or aggression towards people or other dogs. However, due to the specialised nature of the class and the small group size, we will be sending you a form to fill out once you have registered so we can discuss your dog's specific needs to ensure this is the right fit.
To ensure every dog gets the individual attention they need and to set them up for success, class size is limited to a maximum of three dogs.
That's okay. Our program is unique because it focuses on a compassionate, non-judgmental approach to reactivity, addressing the underlying emotional causes rather than just the behavior itself. We help you move past feelings of guilt and frustration and into a space of understanding and support.
